PENNING HONOUR......

Clipping of The New Indian Express July 4th 2016

The success of any visual presentation; be it film, documentary, docudrama, short film depicting any topic; unveils the strength that the script offers. The flesh and blood of a film is a powerful script. And the burgeoning script writers of the state are bringing novel sprouts in the writing sphere.

Simon George, member of the production house; ‘Inspire Films’ mentions, “The prevailing film culture is quite promising with the advent of script writers who make the film a study material with facts and proper research; when it comes to our team we always look for a script that capture minds.”
D S SAJITH
Been hired to write scripts and write ups that are officially credited to some other person; D.S Sajith  has been into ghost writing since twenty years and is currently planning to make a leap to attain credits for his own works. “I have completed 48 works which I cannot name as it is accredited to someone; but now as I want to make a mark in the film industry, I would continue writing under my name and have signed in for few."  Malayalam film on Sikhism titled as "The theme with history” is a notable work of Sajith . "I link myths, old customs ,also try to make my script rich in content and parallel genre is my favourite”. The project that Sajith is involved with now is a script with a humorous tone; he thinks it's important to be experimental in nature to have a stance in the film industry. Sajith believes that though ghost writing is helping writers financially but is also quite disheartening when their work is been titled with someone else's name.

ABHAY STEPHEN
For Abhay Stephen, an aspiring writer, who is enthused to have been awarded first prize in the Dhrishya short film fest 2014 for his short film “Bhodhanam” goes talkative about his works. His crew “Feel Free to think” is on a mission that their works would reveal the raw tastes of life. His award winning short film’ Martyr ‘discloses this. He says, “Whenever my team works towards bagging an award;  we sit together and learn the script as every single member of the crew is aware of the fact that script is what drives to a film  to its zenith”. Abhay’s crew has won first prize in the Vivace era 2012 college film festival for the short film “Mrithyu” and was selected in the Lohithadas National short-film fest too.” Being a theatre artist I am well versed in understanding the pulse of the audience and if the script is weak they realize it in a swift”, he adds.

Rinoy Kalloor, is another Scriptwriter and Director whose projects like ; Malayalam Short Film NOVORMAYUDE MATHURAM, VARAM,  Musical work DREAMS HAVE NO END, are examples of powerful scripts.
