THE SESSION : IN BRIEF

The Lovely school of Architecture and Design department of Lovely Professional University was on their full on power on the 1st of September 2016. The second year students of the Design department armored themselves with the professional get-ups on the day to welcome their educational slot from 9 am to 5 pm. Students witness the event as a platform to polish their inventive design skills in the finest practical modes.


THE DETAILED VERSION:



The event started off at 9:00 am as planned. Enlivened and thrilled were the student to witness this exquisite programme. The topics dealt on the day was "BRICK BOND" and "BRICK JUNCTION".
The workshop was organized by the faculty members of the design department.

The workshop session  was held  infront of BLOCK 8 of LPU ,Punjab; at the parking area, beside Animal House. The workers and construction workers were speacially invited to showcace the mixing of mortar and brick joining to the design students. As per the time table; students were shown the tactics of Brick bonding and brick junctioning which further led them to practically prove it.

Students tried to Brick bond and junction; which stunned the faculty members with a relief that the agenda of the session was fruitful.

THE MAJOR OUTCOMES OF THE SESSION....

Students  practically exhibited the brick joining and alike construction techniques. It indeed boosted their ability to learn about ceiling; mainly building construction. Foundation plans, basics, and knacks to grasp the real raw lessons from the workers who presented their valuable time to them.







THE SESSION ENDED LIKE THIS....


As per the norms first the work was shown to students and then they took over the session by trials with the brick joining and brick bonding. This successful endeavor is planning followups wherein students would build more of creative structures in the campus.


There was also a viva session wherein the students were asked questions and marked according to the answers they gave.
They said " design jargons were the questions shot at us and we fortunately made it". This proved the success of workshops that gives practical exposure to students comments , the faculty members.
