AN ONLINE SYSTEM OF MY COLLEGE..

A presentation concerning the online system followed in my campus to make the syllabus easier...an e-system where you upload and send your assignments from your accounts to teacher's account...
This is the area selected by me when a mini research was demanded to present by our teacher...

SOCIAL, CULTURAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CONCERNS OF LIVING IN THE COSMOPOLITAN CAMPUS,
LOVELY PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY

THE SEGMENT SELECTED: UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (UMS)

The presentation comprised of views regarding the social, cultural, psychological factors of living in the cosmopolitan campus, LPU. The idea behind the assignment was to analyse the socializing, cultural integration and psychological concerns that one experience from the college. As per the segment selected  a study on the same with regard of the subject was carried out. This work helped me learn the university management system that is UMS and how it helps in social, cultural unification and personal, psychological elements.

It is an online system followed by the campus wherein the departments and college as a whole is dependent on the same for any updates. A thorough study on the same made me realize the social, cultural and psychological role that it plays in the university.
 The relevance of UMS is inevitable in the day to day working and system of the campus as every trace of academics, accommodation, faculty announcements, e-registrations, etc...is totally relied on this online system.

Social characteristics of UMS are considered a socializing tool with its sharp and accurate features. Feedback system, the faculty bio, the assignments details given by teachers an online assignments uploading by students are some of them.

The cultural unification in the campus is paved by this system too..Highlighting the fact that any student need to get enrolled and registering in any event that takes place in the campus is through UMS.

The psychological concerns deal with the personal updating and customizing of one’s account on UMS.It acts as a stress reliever too for students as every required detail are given on UMS.

A  NOTE ON ITS FEATURES

SOCIAL FACTORS:

The Feedback System:  The feedback area on ums enable students to convey their response and give a detailed report on their course ,grievances ,complaints, suggestions, requests etc...are handled in this sphere.

      RMS   :   This is a system that makes students feel free and safe to         
     express. It stands for relationship management system which handles any problems that students face on academicals, accommodation and in the overall functioning of the university system.

Assignment download option: The assignments are downloaded and uploaded via UMS which make it vital for assignment submissions.

Announcement panel: The assignment panel on the UMS keeps students updated on any new and relevant information.
      
      Faculty Bio: Details about teachers, and their profile info displayed on UMS helps  students get in touch with teachers without any ambiguity, helps to find whom to approach for any academical and other issues.

           CULTURAL FACTORS:

Info about any activities in Campus : Any events and activities are given on this online system.

Register in any activity through UMS: Registration of the same is through UMS

Any updates about DYC department are provided: The department of youth capital is executed though UMS

DSA block and related activities: The division of students affairs of the campus have its registrations and announcements deliverance on UMS.


PSYCHOLOGICAL FACTORS:

A personalized account of own: Student holds a personal account on UMS.

Grade, Marks or any other info is offered in our personalised account: Any important news and info is conveyed to the student by the authorities and vice versa through UMS.

Boosts Convenience of the Student: It makes the student comfortable and helps to carry out activities with ease, in a systematic order.

Parent ID system: Parents too are given special IDs so as to get accessed to their ward’s  account which make it even more convenient.

FEE status and alerts: The fee structure and details are available.

Any Hostel and accommodation related issues are handled efficiently.

Scholarships and related procedures: the scholarships and every formalities regarding exams are done through thus system.




All these features make UMS an unavoidable online system of the Campus, In short helping in social, cultural and psychological integration.

Kochi :The state is heading its transport modes to a newer pace with welcoming arms to the burgeoning cycling craze. It is setting a new trend especially among the youngsters. The trauma of rape in the Netflix series shows disturbing ways the system works around rape survivors and addresses it as it should be.  Trauma is often exploited in the media, which, in layers, has enabled rape culture by using women characters as the subject of rape-revenge plots even in big-budget movies and TV series like Game of Thrones or as a backstory to build a strong woman character in iconic movies like Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill.
